Free Adaptive Health and Wellness Class For Persons with Disabilities and Seniors

Montgomery County-based 501c3 nonprofit, Disability Partnerships has a mission to improve the

quality of life for people living with physical disabilities through four main areas: affordable and accessible housing, health and wellness, education, and economic empowerment.   In a grant funded by Adventist HealthCare Rehabilitation Community Partnership Fund and in partnership with Independence Now, they have launched a six-week adaptive exercise program for persons with physical disabilities and seniors in the Maryland area.

The Adaptive Health and Wellness program will engage participants  in low- to moderate-intensity workouts targeting muscular strength, flexibility, and range of motion.  The class is led by an experienced exercise physiologist.

The classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday at 4p.m and will run for six weeks.   If you would like to learn more, here is a great news story about the first session of classes from CBS affiliate WUSA9  - https://youtu.be/Ic4ZrWeu0V8.
