The Senior Call Check Service and Notification Program implemented, is a free service provided by the Maryland Department of Aging. All Marylanders 65 or older are qualified. Residents may register through the Maryland Department of Aging website and or by calling their call center contractor:
1-866-502-0560.
The Senior Call Check Program will provide a daily automated call during the same one hour time period every day to the registered participant. These calls will be automated (using computer technology seniors enrolled will receive a call, but a live person will not be making the call).
If there is no answer, the program will :
- Call an alternate contact person (next of kin, neighbor, family or other designated individual) who has been selected by the participant as an emergency contact.
- The alternate individual will be asked to check on the participant’s well-being.
The call center contractor may also serve as an alternate emergency contact.
If the call center is unable to contact the participant or leave a message with the alternate or make contact later the same day with the participant serving as the alternate emergency contact, the call center contractor will notify the county local non-emergency number to implement the standard procedure.
