by Heather Legg of Conduit Street

MaryLandLaborThe Maryland Department of Labor's Division of Unemployment Insurance has created four new video tutorials to help users navigate the new BEACON One-Stop unemployment system. The videos can be found online on the Department of Labor's social media channels including YouTube, and their website.
The series of videos first walks users through the process of activating and logging into their account.
The next tutorial walks users through the process of applying for the Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) CARES Act program, which provides aid to residents who are self-employed, independent contractors, sole proprietors, and gig economy workers. The third tutorial focuses on Marylanders applying for the Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) CARES Act program, for those who have recently exhausted their unemployment benefits and need to file for an extension.
New Claimants and individuals currently receiving benefits will automatically receive an additional 13 weeks of benefits.
The final video in the series walks claimants through the process of filing their weekly claim certification.
