About
Michael Oberman
My
photographs are on permanent display in U.S. National Parks
including Steigerwald and Modoc and in museums including the Utah
Museum of Natural History and the Ontario Science Centre
(Toronto).
Six of my
photos did a five year tour of U.S. and Canadian museums in an
exhibit called "Imaginate"...under the auspices of the
Ontario Science Centre in Toronto (where the same six photos are
on permanent display).
Before
photography, I spent my life in the "music
business." I started as a music columnist for the
Washington Star and a six year period interviewed more than 300
major recording artists...including David Bowie, Janis Joplin,
Jim Morrison, James Brown...the list is too long for this
page. I later worked for a record company and managed
artists. Now I am back to my true love: Photography.
In 2019, I
was signed to a publishing contract for a book about my life in
the music business. I spent eight months writing "Fast Forward,
Play, and Rewind." It was published on
October 15, 2020 in the U.S. and December 1 in Great
Britain. It is currently available on most major book
selling sites.

Neha Misra
I नेहा मिश्राI is a contemporary visual folk artist, poet, and an
award winning global Climate Justice advocate. “Neha” meaning
“love” has roots in Sanskrit, the ancient language of her
ancestors. Neha grew up in the heart of India’s capital New Delhi
whose soulful vibrancy is a part of her creative DNA. America is
her adopted home where she embodies powerful creative
reclamations of imagination as a living prayer for private,
collective, and planetary healing. Neha’s Earth Stewardship
centered multi-disciplinary practice is rooted in the eco-folk
art and sacred geometry traditions of India combined with her
lifelong environmental justice work and foundational education in
Physics. In a reductionist world, Neha’s art fosters
conversations about possibilities of wholeness that can emerge by
embracing the physical and metaphysical, complex and simple, old
and new. Earlier this fall season, Neha was a part of the Life
Journeys Writers Guild's " Poetry is Power'' showcase at the
Kennedy Center where she shared her poem "Let Us Waste Not:
A Call to Humanity in the Times of Covid-19". Neha is
currently participating in the Altars Festival 2021 - a
collaboration between the Sustainable Culture Lab and Stable Arts
Gallery. Neha's Altar "Seven Senses of Grandmother's Time:
Suitcase of Migratory Devotions" is an ode to her
grandmothers. Learn more at AltarsFestival and nehamisrastudio.com.

Come
'visit' (virtually) Havana, Cuba with Reemberto Rodriguez, a
Silver Spring resident, University of Maryland Affiliate
Instructor, and frequent journeyer to his homeland, Cuba. This
engaging presentation will explore the beauty and grace of Havana.
We'll dive into Havana's majestic architecture, unique historical
master planning processes, recent preservation efforts, and
today's economic situation. Havana just celebrated its 500
Anniversary. The prominence of Havana in this hemisphere is both historical
and current. Havana is in many ways unique - and in many ways
similar to other cities throughout the world. Havana's constant
through the centuries is its vibrant art and culture, which has
survived and thrived. Havana is not a museum. It continues to
evolve, facing many challenges yet culturally alive as
exemplified in its art and people. Grab your mojito, daiquiri, or
Cuba Libre and join us for this virtual journey to Havana.
