Here are some interesting events everyone in the community can enjoy in the next week....

Navigating Life's Journey: Financial and Legal Planning for Future Healthcare Needs
This will be the second event of our new "Navigating Life's Journey" series, in which you will learn how to navigate your options for each stage of aging. In this session, a panel of experts will discuss how to ensure your future plans for aging in place (or anywhere else) are on firm financial and legal footing. Topics include long-term care insurance, financial planning, advanced directives, and issues in elder law like medical and financial power of attorney. The speakers will be Arvette M. Reid of Lifecare Affordability Plan, Coryn Rosenstock of Altman and Associates, Jennifer Brown of Seabury Resources for Aging, and Mark Gottlieb of Gottlieb Insurance Advisory. Participants may submit questions to ask anonymously in advance using this SurveyMonkey link. For your convenience, this event will be recorded and sent to all who register in advance...so even if you have a conflicting obligation, you can still benefit! Hosted by Chevy Chase At Home in partnership with Charles E. Smith Life Communities and Ingleside.
Friday, Dec. 3

Space Through Time
In this virtual discussion, scientist Shauna Edson (Astronomy Education Program Coordinator, Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum) will talk about the history of the astronomy of Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House’s night sky and the science and the stories the sky tells us over Woodlawn's history. The discussion will cover a few important historical stops along both the timeline of events in the sky, and events on the ground over 250 years until current day. The upward view-shed is quite relevant to historic site stories, in tandem with the built, landscaped, and natural environments. The preservation of the night sky is important, so that we can better understand the intimate role of the dark sky to those people making history on the ground. This event will also commemorate the groundbreaking new NASA mission: the space launch of the Webb Telescope! Hosted by NASA and the Woodlawn & Pope-Leighey House.
Friday, Dec. 3
6 to 7:30 p.m.

Register in advance on this Eventbrite page.
