Stomach cancer is an abnormal growth of cells that begins in the stomach. It can affect any part of the stomach but typically forms in the main part of the stomach, the stomach body. According to Mayo Clinic, in the US, stomach cancer is more likely to affect the esophagus, the long tube that carries food to the stomach.
