Engage with™ Older Adults Skills Training Program

Dear Odile,

This week was the formal launch of the Engage with™ Older Adults Skills Training Program, a new national staff training we have developed to improve the daily lives of older adults living in nursing and assisted living facilities and the caregivers who support them.

Engage with™ Skills Trainings are highly interactive, delivered by a live virtual instructor, and offer an innovative gamification approach in our virtual nursing facility environment. The trainings emphasize a person-centered approach, dispel myths, increase awareness, teach de-escalation and suicide risk identification, and promote meaningful engagement. Program evaluation by the University of Maryland School of Medicine demonstrated reduction in staff turnover by up to 40% and improved staff morale, ultimately leading to better resident outcomes and patient care.

Given the disproportionate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on older adults and their caregivers over the past year, we are proud to be able to provide this urgently needed resource to the community at this time and ask you to help spread the word.

Please take a few minutes to help us achieve the most successful launch possible. You can help us by simply liking and following us on our social media platforms:

That is it! Getting the word out is all that is needed to help us reach our July goal of building our social media following and reaching those who could benefit. Please also share this with your networks of friends and colleagues so they may do the same.

Together our efforts can improve the experiences of the older adult workforce heroes who work tirelessly partnering in care with older adults.

Thank you in advance for your enthusiastic participation in this new MHAMD initiative!
