Good afternoon,
To help people stay in stable housing during the COVID-19
pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an
order that means you may be protected from eviction if you can’t afford
to pay your rent. To be protected, you must sign and give a CDC Declaration
to your landlord.
The CDC just extended its eviction protection order until
July 31, 2021. If you already gave your landlord a
CDC Declaration and your situation hasn’t changed, you don’t need to do
it again to be protected until July 31. If you haven’t given your
landlord a Declaration yet, find out if
you're eligible and see the steps to take.
Here’s what else you should know:
State and local organizations are distributing federal
money to help with rent and utilities.
You or your landlord may be able to apply, depending on where you live. Learn more here.
