Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind is dedicated to continuing providing services to our clients. We will be offering several virtual workshops that can be accessed by phone, iPad, computer or desktop. The following is a list of workshops offered the week of April 27th.
Please sign up for those you are interested in by clicking on the link below the date and registering. You must register at least 24 hours in advance of the workshop.   • Google Maps module (phone or video chat)
    This one-hour module will introduce the consumer to the basics of planning a walkable route with Google Maps smartphone app.
    • Friday, May 1, 2020 – 9:00- 10:00 AM

  • Using Your Smartphone for Smarter Public Transportation module (phone or video chat)
    This two-hour module will introduce the consumer to a variety of smartphone apps designed to make traveling by public transportation easier and more efficient.

    • Tuesday, April 28, 2020 – 11- Noon ( Part 2)

  • Virtual Orientation & Mobility (phone or video chat)
    Each one-hour module is offered on its own and designed to help the consumer become a better traveler. Lessons will build on each other, so consumers are encouraged to take them in order if they are interested in multiple topics. Please note certain topics are available by video chat only.

    • Monday, April 27, 2020 – 1:00-2:00 PM--  Room Familiarization/Locating Dropped Objects
    • Tuesday, April 28, 2020 –  1:00- 2:00 PM-- Safely Navigating the Home Environment
    • Wednesday, April 29, 2020 – 1:00- 2:00 PM-- Cane Care and Etiquette
    • Friday, May 1, 2020 – 1:00- 2:00 PM-- Protective Technique/Trailing [video chat only]
