"Healthcare Decisions Day is a national campaign to raise awareness about the needs of those with serious illness. Events are held annually across the country following Tax Day. As Ben Franklin famously said, "In this world, nothing is certain but death and taxes."

Keynote Address: 
Stephen B. Thomas, PhD University of Maryland Center for Health Equity "Health Equity and End-of-Life Care" Dr. Thomas' current research focuses on the translation of evidence-based science on chronic disease into community-based interventions designed to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in health and health care.

Break out topics
• The impact of culture on advance care planning (ACP), both personal and provider perspectives
