ABOUT Dementia Friendly in Montgomery County MDDementia Friendly America - December 2015, BrightFocus Foundation, a Clarksburg-based Alzheimer’s research nonprofit, welcomed Montgomery County to help create a national network of communities called Dementia Friendly America. Since then, the County has strengthened its efforts – some of these may even become models for other communities. Through a public private partnership, Montgomery County is developing thoughtful initiatives that continue empower the community so caregivers and their families who are experiencing dementia are supported.
Montgomery County’s Dementia Friendly America initiative in unison with Age-Friendly Montgomery will help to make Montgomery County a wonderfully diverse Community for a Lifetime--a place where all residents can age, thrive to their full potential, and contribute as a powerful resource in making our County a better, stronger, more inclusive community for everyone.
