Summer Schedule at BlackRock Imagination Stage and BlackRock Center for the Arts are thrilled to announce a new partnership to bring Imagination Stage’s acclaimed work in professional theatre for the very young and theatre education for children to BlackRock’s beautiful home in Germantown. Janet Stanford, Imagination Stage’s Producing Artistic Director, says, “As leading Montgomery County arts organizations, BlackRock and Imagination Stage have long looked for ways to work together. The timing to bring Imagination Stage programs to a new audience in Germantown feels right, as both of our organizations re-open our doors and invite audiences and students in to experience live arts again.”     This fall, Imagination Stage teaching artists will teach four theatre arts classes for children at BlackRock. Registration will be available early August for our season launching late September! New! En conjunto con John A. Hartford Foundation y Diverse Elders Coalition, El Consejo Nacional Hispano para el Adulto Mayor (NHCOA) y SAGE se unen para ofrecer el foro comunitario virtual denominado Cuidando a Nuestros Seres Amados: Un Trabajo sin Descanso. Este evento virtual está pensado para que participen Hispanos/Latinos que cuidan a un ser querido, también conocidos como cuidadores.

En este espacio contaremos con la presencia de expertos que compartirán información sobre cómo establecer límites saludables en su rol de cuidador, la experiencia de ser cuidador en Puerto Rico: los retos y programas disponibles, y los recursos que existen para que pueda cuidar de sí mismo y de otros. También, contaremos con las historias de cuidadores quienes brindarán detalles sobre sus retos al realizar esta labor, las lecciones aprendidas y recomendaciones para cuidar de un ser querido. Este evento virtual se llevará a cabo en español el jueves, 29 de Julio de 2021 de 2:00 p.m. a 3:30 p.m. (EST) en la plataforma Zoom. The Mesothelioma Veterans Center

The Mesothelioma Veterans Center provides information about treatment, clinical trials, and VA benefits to veterans suffering from asbestos-related illnesses. They have helped hundreds of veterans pursue compensation after developing mesothelioma or asbestos-related lung cancer from their asbestos exposure in the military.

ABOUT: The Mesothelioma Veterans Center

No one gets left behind. To that end, they strive to provide veterans diagnosed with asbestos illnesses the best information, advice and assistance. From filing for VA Disability Compensation to helping veterans find the best medical treatment.

Because veterans comprise the single largest group of Americans diagnosed with mesothelioma and asbestos lung cancers each year, they are the most affected, yet their needs are the most underserved. There are many benefits available to veterans, which many overlook. The Mesothelioma Veterans Center envision a day when they are able to ensure that every veteran diagnosed with mesothelioma or asbestos lung cancer is able to get the best medical treatment available and that they receive any and all VA benefits for which they are eligible.

The Mesothelioma Veterans Center provides advice that is founded on VA law and publication. They never speculate and speak only of what they know to be true. 

Attention to detail is the cornerstone of our approach to each VA claim. Every asbestos-related claim is different. Therefore, The Mesothelioma Veterans Center will provide the veteran with the information and guidance that they need to ensure that their claim is complete, correct, and compelling.

The Montgomery County Area Agency on Aging is interested in learning about the experiences older adults are having with “Telehealth”, virtual medical consultations using the Internet.		La Agencia del Área para Adultos Mayores (Area Agency on Aging) del Condado de Montgomery, está interesada en conocer las experiencias que los adultos mayores están teniendo con “Telesalud” (“Telehealth”, Consultas médicas virtuales usando el Internet).
By participating in this research, you will help the County determine potential next steps for improving telehealth services for older adults.  All participant answers will be anonymous.
