Montgomery County's Asian American Health Initiative - Health and Wellness Outreach

The cornerstone of AAHI is the provision of quality health education and robust community outreach. The

goal of health education and community outreach is to empower individuals to take control of their health by providing them with the information and resources they need to make changes in their lives.

AAHI has developed a library of multilingual and culturally-relevant educational materials in the form of pamphlets, brochures, booklets, and posters regarding a variety of diseases and illnesses of concern to the Asian American community. Some of these materials are available for electronic download on the Resources page of this website and are used in various health education efforts, such as through social media, the AAHI newsletter, and print media.

AAHI’s comprehensive outreach efforts serves as another major platform to share health education materials. AAHI’s outreach strategy ensures that community members both increase their knowledge of specific health concerns impacting their community, and are aware of programs, services, and other culturally-specific resources that are available to them locally.
