Dear
Lylie,
The COVID-19 pandemic is
a once-in-a-generation event. The pandemic has affected all
aspects of our lives, upending our usual patterns of work and
home and bringing suffering and death to thousands.
Across Maryland, those
who have personal experience with COVID-19 have important
experiences to share with us. You are invited to join us for
a special, free program on Thursday, August
5th, 2021 at 5:00 pm where COVID survivors
who participate in the CovidCONNECT Peer Support Group will share
their personal journeys with the COVID-19 virus and their stories
of hope and recovery.
Visit the CovidCONNECT
website at covidconnect.health.maryland.gov to

How much do you know about Tardive
Dyskinesia? Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a neurologic
condition that can develop as a result of the long-term use of
antipsychotic medications, which are used to treat bipolar
disorder, depression, and schizophrenia. In the United States, as
many as 500,000 individuals have TD.
TD causes involuntary movements of the body such as facial tic-like
movements, rapid eye blinking, sticking out of the tongue, lip
pursing, and jaw clenching. Some people experience twitching and
jerking of their arms, legs, or torso. In severe cases, the
muscles associated with breathing can even be affected.
