Designed for learners age 60 and older, these courses train participants to confidently use technology to improve their financial security and health; open a new business; improve their ability to live independently; or just use the internet for better daily living.
Summer, courses will take place at the following locations: Gaithersburg Library; Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center; Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center in Wheaton; and Long Branch Library. Montgomery County offers course instruction, books, and devices to use in class at no charge to participants. Classes meet two times per week for 10 weeks, unless otherwise noted. Connecting in the Digital Age: learn about popular social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter and how technology is changing the way we read news, manage our health information, and connect with the world around us.
iPad Basics: learn the basics of operating the Apple iPad, using email, internet searching, downloading apps, connecting with others, and so much more.
iPad Essentials: (5-week) learn the essentials of how to use the Apple iPad, how to navigate the internet, and how to send and receive email.
