Metropolitan Washington Ear (MWE) provides free multi-media audio information service for blind,
visually-impaired, and physically disabled individuals.
They have provided non profit support for over 40 years.
MWE provides over 5,000 people in Maryland, Virginia and DC rely on MWE for news and information for daily living. The need for their services is growing as the population ages and people live longer. More and more people have challenges which impact their ability to use ordinary print media, or to enjoy TV, films theater, museums, and exhibits that sighted people take for granted. Our services help reduce isolation and depression and empower people to remain independent.
Anyone who is unable to effectively read ordinary print because of visual or physical limitations is eligible for free services.
