Adaptive Wellness Class

 

Every Monday & Wednesday at 4PM

If you are a person with a disability or a senior citizen - this class is just for you! Participants will engage in low to moderate intensity workouts targeting muscular strength, flexibility, and range of motion. Offered by Disability Partnerships.

This class is offered in partnership with Disability Partnerships with generous support from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation.

Emergency Broadband Benefit

Join us to learn more about the Emergency Broadband Benefit! A guest speaker from the Federal Communications Commission will discuss this new benefit to help households struggling to pay for internet service during the pandemic. Internet has become crucial during this time to connect people with work, education, and healthcare services!

A discussion with teens and young adults living with cerebral palsy.

Learn from a leading national organization, the National Disability Mentoring Coalition, of the opportunities, benefits, successes, and challenges of mentoring and being mentored in the disability community.

Speaker: Kristin Humphrey, Mentoring Director, National Disability Mentoring Coalition

Supported by the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council and The Arc Maryland.

At Independence Now’s Annual Meeting, we will take care of some Board requirements, including elections for new Board members and for our Officers as well as an annual update report from the Executive Director and an annual financial report from the Treasurer. The rest of the meeting will focus on ideas we’ve implemented over the past year with a general focus on our resilience during the pandemic. All are welcome!
