Relaxation for Caregivers Workshop

Wednesday evening, February 12,
Christ Episcopal Church Kensington - 4001 Franklin St. (Parking on Everett St.) 

Join a free community discussion as we delve into mindfulness, yoga, breadth work and Reiki with veteran practitioners of the healing arts. A weekly Eucharist service begins at 6:30pm followed by a light supper and fellowship. Learn how to tap inner resources helpful for facing the challenge of caregiving (or just everyday life!). The service is optional, but please RSVP if you will be coming to the program that begins at 7:00pm.


Presenters include: Katherine Smith, MPH, NBC-HWC, is a longtime meditation teacher, National board certified health and wellness coach, and faculty at Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH). Ms. Smith has taught mindfulness meditation to elementary, college, and graduate school students, teachers, physicians, nurses, Members of Congress and their staff.

Christine Meissner has extensive experience in many of the healing aspects of yoga and in Reiki. Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Christine has over twenty years of experience in education and recreation. For the past ten years, in addition to her yoga and Reiki work, she has taught swimming at Howard University in Washington, DC.


The evening is open to all.
