In this thought-provoking training, Dr. Dwayne Buckingham explores the psychological, economical, and cultural barriers that prevent African Americans from seeking professional counseling after experiencing trauma and grief. Participants will learn the importance of serving the Black community through culturally sensitive lens and develop skills and knowledge needed to encourage healthy help-seeking behavior.

Camp Erin Montgomery County

 

 

 

Camp Erin is a free, weekend experience that combines traditional camp activities with grief education and emotional support for children and teens ages 6-17. Led by grief professionals and trained volunteers, Camp Erin provides a unique opportunity for youth facing similar life circumstances to increase levels of hope, enhance self-esteem, and learn they are not alone.

This year's Camp Erin is being planned as in-person experience, with campers and volunteers staying overnight through the weekend. However, we are closely monitoring CDC guidance and will make changes accordingly if conditions change.
